Ham And Swiss Celebration Breakfast
6 leftover croissants, cut in half lengthwise
8 ounces Swiss cheese, grated
4 ounces cooked ham, chopped
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
12 large eggs
3 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter or grease a large
baking dish.
Place the bottom halves of the crescent rolls on a cutting
board and cube them up into small pieces; then put in a large bowl.
To the bowl, add the Swiss cheese, ham, and onion, tossing
to combine; set aside.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and the
seasonings, until well combined.
Pour this mixture into the bowl with crescents and toss
well.
Turn this mixture into the baking dish, then evenly arrange
the crescent tops on top of the mixture, pressing gently so they settle into
the egg mixture about half way up the crescent.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes or until the top
gets golden brown and the eggs set up.
Remove and let sit for 3 minutes before cutting into
servings.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
